[Sanpei Shirato & Tetsuji Okamoto] Kamui Den Original Watercolor Reproduction Set [Big Comics]
This is a set of 13 images printed on high quality watercolor-esque paper with some of Sanpei Shirato's 70s illustrations for Kamui Den, or Ninpuu Kamui Gaiden/The Legend of Kamui. Sanpei passed away alongside his brother Tetsuji Okamoto last year, both of whom passed from penumonia only days apart. This set was published based on illustrations that were in Big Comics, where both brothers got their fundamental start in the Gekiga (dramatic pictures) movement. Both brothers also published works in Garo magazine, which had works such as Wild 7 and Golgo 13.
Sanpei is my 2nd favorite illustrator after Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, so I wanted to preserve my copy. These sets are often times on Mandarake and other sites for reasonable prices and make for a great collection of Seinen manga.
Tetsuji was an illustrator as well and apparently helped Sanpei write aspects of Kamui and vice versa, so they are billed on the image set's obi together.
